Skin è un’installazione e/o performance audiovisiva generata e/o performata in tempo reale. L’installazione è composta da un tetraedro wireframe in ferro di 3 metri per lato, le cui facce sono costituite ad superfici semitrasparenti. Nonostante l’aspetto della scultura richiami un manufatto post-industriale, il tetraedro, in quanto solido platonico, è uno degli esempi più antichi, forse addirittura primitivo, della volontà razionalizzante dell’essere umano. La vita dell’installazione è concettualmente ispirata a Piano Phase, composizione minimalista di Steve Reich del 1967, per due pianoforti (o pianoforte e nastro).
Skin is an audiovisual performance and/or installation, entirely generated or performed in real-time. The installation is a wireframe tetrahedron made of iron, whose faces are covered with semi-transparent surfaces. Even though the sculpture looks like a post-industrial artefact, the tetrahedron, as a Platonic solid, is one of the most ancient example, if not primitive, of the human rationalizing will. The installation’s cycle is inspired by Piano Phase (1967), a minimalist composition by Steve Reich, for two pianos (or piano and tape).
