X|ics è un videomapping su facciata commissionato da Marker Events per il Teatro Sociale di Como. Il lavoro si fonda sul concetto anatomico di chiasma ottico: l’architettura viene spazialmente trattata come composta da due metà, l’una lo specchio dell’altra. Ad un’immagine proiettata sulla metà di sinistra, vengono associate, sul fronte stereo, immagini acustiche collocate a destra, e viceversa. Così X|ics ha lo scopo di mostrare il conflitto tra processi cerebrali, il dominio dell’uno sull’altro, la loro sovrapposizione, ma anche la libertà di confonderli in una rappresentazione soggettiva.
X|ics is an architectural videomapping commissioned by Marker Events for Teatro Sociale di Como. The work is based on the anatomical concept of optic chiasm: the architecture is spatially treated as composed of two halves, one mirroring the other. To an image projected on the left half, are associated, on the stereo front, acoustic images placed on the right, and vice versa. Thus X|ics aims to show the conflict between brain processes, the dominance of one over the other, their overlap, but also the freedom to confuse them in a subjective representation.
